Thanksgiving Special

I got tagged to do one of these things by Caroline last week, but I decided to save it for today. I've got to list one gripe and one (or more) things that I'm grateful for. So here we go!

My Gripe: I hate that I can't be with my family during the holidays this year. Today, I'll miss all the kids running around and yelling during dinner. I'll also miss, browsing through ads with my sister and my mom, planning where to get the best deals, and talking the latest gossip. On Christmas, I'll miss the beautiful tree that Kathy will decorate to bring the Christmas spirit. And going to my dad's and having his dog knock everyone over as we try to open presents. And I'll miss the smell of cinnamon rolls at my moms house as the kids play with their new toys. I'll miss the cats running for safety, so that their hair/tails/ears won't get pulled. But if they do get caught, Shadow won't bite. (She's the "nice" one. Cali is the "mean" one.) I'll miss all of these things. These are things that I can't recreate here. Things that I can't bring to my house, as much as I wish that I could.
I'm Grateful for: The chance to start new traditions and new memories with JM. I think that it should be fairly interesting. We did a bit of Christmas celebrating last year, but I wasn't hear for the whole end of December, so it wasn't the same! I've got a lot of plans. This weekend we're going to the tree lighting ceremony and then ice skating. Maybe this can be a new tradition.
I'm Grateful for: Boxing Day! If I don't get "day after Thanksgiving shopping", at least I'll get "day after Christmas" shopping. Supposedly, these sales are just as good. So I'm crossing my fingers, that they really are as good.

I'm Grateful for: the internet! What would I do without it? I wouldn't be able to talk to my family and friends as much as I do. I don't feel as far away, when they are just a phone call, or email away. (See me on the internet below.)I'm Grateful for: a safe country to live in. Canada may not be the U.S., but it's the closest thing to it! As much as a complain about Canada, it is pretty great. There are a lot of great things to do, nice people to see, and they speak English (for the most part.)

Now, there's a lot more that I'm grateful for, but I should start making my replacement Thanksgiving dinner: Buffalo wing and chocolate chip cookies! Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

Sounds tasty!! Sorry that you don't get to be with all of your family, but it's nice that you have Junaid and that you can start your new traditions this year! That'll be so much fun.
